Venue: Springfield Park Bandstand

Organiser: UVW Protest Band

If you play a musical instrument, enjoy singing, or just want to give something a try, come and join the UVW protest band in the Springfield Park bandstand for an evening of antifascist jams.

Many of the tunes we have in our arsenal have been found through researching activist movements around the world. The songs call for justice, workers rights and solidarity.

All you need is yourself and something to make noise with (something to blow, scrape, shake or hit) - we will provide sheet music for players and lyrics if you wish to sing.

Some of the songs we might play include:

Blast Against Blackguards Peggy Seeger & Ewan MacColl The Diggers Song by Gerrard Winstanley, leader of the Diggers (17th Century) Idris Strike Song Written in 1911 about the Idris soft drink factory strike in Wales Legal Illegal Peggy Seeger & Ewan MacColl Song For Che Charlie Haden On The Day Chumbwamba L’Internationale Viva la FAI *Corale Durruti Nine to Five Dolly Parton
