Be your own prince: a drag king workshop

16 June 2019

website

Venue: Dalston Eastern Curve Garden, 13 Dalston Ln, Dalston, London E8 3DF

Organiser: Yas Necati

Yas Necati is a queer and trans activist living in London. Their writing often explores drag culture and identity and they are particularly interested in drag as a form of protest. They have used drag as a means to explore their own trans, queer and Turkish identity through their king alter ego, Turkish pop star Tarkan. They could chat for hours about how to achieve the most realistic facial hair

Ever wanted to try drag but not sure where to start? This workshop will cover the basics of masculine drag performance, including:

  • Make up
  • Appearance: costume
  • Appearance: packing and binding
  • Character
  • Performing

All genders welcome. Fiercely trans inclusive.
