Venue: Impact Hub Islington, 27 Dingley Place, London, EC1V 8BR

Organiser: London Queer Writers with Yas Necati

London Queer Writers (LQW) is a collective of LGBTQIA identifying poets, spoken word artists, educators, and academics sharing words of love, equality, and empowerment. LQW runs monthly poetry workshops and a poetry night, Speak=, on the last Thursday of every month. Yas Necati is a writer and performance poet based in London. They explore themes of queer and trans identity, mental health, recovery, migrant identity, community and resistance in their writing. They have delivered workshops on self care across the country and try to live by Audre Lorde's words: "Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare"

A space for queer and trans folk to write as a form of self care. We will be creating a safer space, bringing all of our warmth, and providing writing tips/prompts to follow, or not. Bring along a notepad, pen, and your best self love vibes
