as recent graduates of art university courses, we identify our strengths in navigating the art industry to share them in a series of workshops, open to everybody. workshop topics to be announced will include / the artist as a brand / networking & connecting / adapting an art practice / developing an aesthetic / art as therapy

we will close the series with a group discussion on 10th September, to put our heads together on how we can all move forward in the art world following a recent announcement by the UK Conservative government of a 50% funding cut to art and design courses. we will consider how this informs our work for an upcoming exhibition, and invite contributions from the audience

// at odds is an artist collective working towards an “anti-degree show” at the TOMA Project Space in Southend-on-Sea. the exhibition aims to access non-typical art audiences and subvert conventions of the degree show model that we think are outdated. we formed in reaction to the cancellation of in-real-life Fine Art degree shows due to the COVID-19 pandemic and consist of 23 artists recently graduated from two institutions, who are interested in institutional critique, art world accessibility and transparency //
